Kage - Medium Roast Hōjicha 60g

Meet Kage, our very first release of our Hōjicha, a tea that deserves far more attention than it gets.

Kage (影) translates to shadow, a tribute to Hōjicha’s quieter, warmer personality. While matcha stands in the spotlight, Hōjicha has always been the underdog: comforting, roasted, grounding. Don't underestimate the underdog, it might just become your favourite!  This medium-roast version is crafted from tea leaves gently fired to bring out caramel notes, toasted warmth, and a naturally low-caffeine profile.

Sourced from a farmer known for perfecting balance in roast levels, Kage is smooth, nutty, and incredibly versatile — delicious on its own or as a latte. Our Hōjicha is from the Wazuka area in Japan. 

On the palate, Kage delivers mellow roasted notes layered with subtle sweetness and a soft caramel finish.
