Discover the Uganda Kali Buzi Natural – A Fruity, High-Altitude Single Origin Coffee

This vibrant and fruit-forward single origin coffee comes from the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, where 32 smallholder farmers contribute to this carefully processed natural lot. This coffee delivers bright tropical acidity, rich sweetness, and a smooth, structured finish.

The cherries are handpicked and delivered to collection centres in Kalingwe and Buzira before being transported to a central coffee mill in Nyabirongo. There, the coffee is floated, sorted, and sun-dried on raised African beds before being hulled and graded for export. The result is a clean and expressive Ugandan natural.

About This Coffee:

The Rwenzori Mountains, often referred to as the “Mountains of the Moon,” stretch across western Uganda and rise to impressive elevations, creating an ideal high-altitude growing environment. Coffee cultivated along these fertile slopes benefits from rich soil and cooler temperatures, producing dense cherries with exceptional sweetness and clarity.

After harvest, red cherries are collected at rural centres before being processed centrally in Nyabirongo. The coffee is floated, carefully sorted, and dried naturally on raised beds, allowing the fruit sugars to intensify during drying. Once dry, it is hulled and graded to ensure consistency and quality.

This is Uganda’s specialty coffee potential expressed through careful processing and high-altitude terroir.

Cup Profile:

Expect a bright and juicy cup led by vibrant passion fruit acidity, followed by rich date-like sweetness and rounded off with deep cacao nib undertones. It is expressive and fruit-driven, yet balanced with a clean, lingering finish.

Ideal for filter brewing, but equally rewarding as a lively, fruit-forward espresso.
